Practical Thinking. Properly Defined Steelwork.
Commercial steelwork starts with understanding the job. We bring the enquiry back to what needs making, what it must do and what information is needed to make it correctly.
Discuss Your Project
For Commercial And Industrial Buyers
Leeds Steel Fabricators is a starting point for commercial steel fabrication projects in Leeds and the surrounding districts. We cover enquiries for structural members, fabricated metal assemblies, folded sheet components, bespoke steelwork and welding.
Our audience includes contractors coordinating construction, facilities teams maintaining equipment, commercial landlords adapting buildings and manufacturers buying components. Different projects need different technical input, so a clear description matters more than a long list of general capabilities.
Start With The Information That Matters
A useful fabrication brief identifies the intended use, material, dimensions, quantity, interfaces and finish. It also explains the site, access limitations and target programme. Where drawings or calculations are missing, those gaps should be identified before manufacture is agreed.
We use that information to direct the enquiry towards an appropriate scope. Your details may be passed to a suitable local firm, with your agreement, so that the project can be reviewed and quoted. You can read how that works in our privacy notice.
Standards Follow The Work
Structural steelwork needs the relevant design and execution requirements, including BS EN 1090 where applicable. Welding quality requirements, material traceability and inspection should match the specification. A standard named on a website is not evidence of a supplier’s certification, so request the documents appropriate to your particular order.
Work equipment and construction projects bring their own safety duties, including PUWER and CDM where relevant. Confirm who owns design, measurement, temporary works, lifting and installation. Our buyer FAQs explain the main questions to resolve before placing an order.
A Clear Scope Before A Commitment
A useful quotation sets out what is included and what remains with the buyer or another contractor. That may cover drawings, engineering, fabrication, protective coatings, transport and installation as separate responsibilities.
Start by sending the information you already have. Describe any decision that still needs resolving, and do not treat a target programme as confirmed until the design and scope have been reviewed. Tell us about your project to begin.
